How to Choose Senior Picture Outfits That Photograph Beautifully

Choose outfits you’re excited about

I don’t want you to find outfits you like. I want you to find pieces that you absolutely cannot WAIT to wear! When you feel beautiful and confident in what you’re wearing, it reflects the most beautiful, authentic images of you - and that is exactly what I am trying to capture.

Bring at least one statement outfit

I’m not talking about a cute set that you like. When I say ‘statement’ look, I almost want you to ask yourself, ‘I like, really love this, but…is this TOO much?’ NOPE, It’s not. PLEASE bring it!! You will never regret it!

Statement pieces like maxi dresses, gowns, or dramatic skirts often create the most stunning senior pictures.

Plan 3 Different Senior Photo Outfits

I recommend bringing three different outfits for your senior session.

Ideally, each outfit should have:

• Different shoes
• Different accessories
• Different styling

This variety creates a gallery that feels dynamic, interesting, and uniquely you!

Plan out your hair and makeup.

Even if you normally wear very little makeup, a professional makeup artist can keep things natural while enhancing your features so they photograph beautifully.

Alternatively, with so many tutorials, many seniors are very comfortable doing their own. If this is something you do regularly — do your own! But if you have any hesitations, consider hiring a professional.

Accessorize and layer

Accessories add personality and can completely change a look without needing an entirely new outfit.

Consider bringing:

• Hats
• Earrings
• Bracelets
• Necklaces
• Jackets or sweaters

Make sure your pieces fit you well

Clothing that fits well will always photograph best.

Avoid pieces that are too tight or overly oversized. Flowing fabrics are beautiful — but you want them to be properly fitted.

• Make sure undergarments work with each outfit
