Bryant University Grad Photos | A College Grad Session with Celia
I had the best time walking around Bryant University with Celia and her mom capturing this time before graduation. It was immediately obvious how meaningful Celia’s college experience had been. Between the leadership roles, her campus involvement, and all the memories tied to Bryant, you could just feel how much this chapter meant to her.
Her sister Nora even made a special appearance during the session — she’s a student at Bryant as well — and I’m so excited to photograph their whole family, along with their other sister, again later this summer!
At one point after she grabbed her cap and gown, both her mom and I started tearing up talking about how emotional it is watching your kids graduate from college. It honestly compares a bit to the moment a mom first sees her daughter put on her veil before walking down the aisle.
As we walked around campus, Celia shared more about her plans after graduation, including moving into her first apartment, the most amazing graduation trip, and her new job! There are clearly big things ahead for her!!!
During my session planning calls, I always BEG my clients to bring a showstopper outfit. The best way I describe it is this: if you absolutely love it and you briefly think, this is too much, I can’t possibly bring it - that’s your sign that that’s the exact look I want you to bring. And I promise you - that will end up being your favorite images from the session.
I just about dropped dead when I saw the most gorgeous dress that Celia brought and she told me she didn’t know if she’d wear it during the session. GIRL. You cannot bring that dress and not wear it. In fact, you are now legally obligated to wear it - I promise you will love it!! And we all obsessed over it! (And - huge shoutout to mom who picked out the dress that Celia fell in love with!)
Celia, hat’s off to you as you walk under the arch this weekend and close this chapter before you begin the next one that’s waiting for you. Enjoy every moment of graduation with all those that helped get you here!
