Scarborough Beach Senior Photos in Narragansett | Katherine’s Summer Session
Katherine and her mom met me at Scarborough Beach in Narragansett on a the most beautiful summer evening — the kind where the light does exactly what you need it to do and the whole session just flows.
Why Scarborough Beach Works for Senior Photos
Scarborough is one of my favorite locations for senior photos in Narragansett, and honestly one of the most underused. Most people think beach session and picture wide-open sand. I’m looking for a beach that offers that, but with as much of a variety of backgrounds as possible. Scarborough also has the Black Point Ruins — an old brick structure right on the beach that adds something completely different to a gallery. Weathered, textured, and completely unexpected! It photographs beautifully and you won't find it anywhere else on the Rhode Island coast.
From the very start of her senior photo shoot, Katherine felt comfortable and confident in front of the camera. That ease always translates into the most authentic senior portraits, and Scarborough Beach provided the perfect setting to let her personality shine. The open beach and neutral tones keep the focus exactly where it belongs—on her—while still offering beautiful variety throughout the session.
As we wrapped up the final images, the sky treated us to the most incredible pink and purple ombré sunset. That kind of light is never guaranteed, but I’ve been fortunate to encounter it more than once at Scarborough! The soft colors across the Narragansett sky added the most beautiful feel to her senior photos and created the perfect close to a summer evening at the beach!
Scarborough Beach continues to be one of my favorite locations for senior photography in Narragansett because of its versatility and consistently beautiful light. Every session here feels unique, but the result is always the same—timeless senior portraits that feel natural, confident, and true to who the senior is in this moment.
