Duxbury Beach Senior Photos | Eva’s Senior Session
Duxbury Beach has been a favorite location for senior photos for years, and it’s so obvious to see why. Between the iconic wooden bridge and the beautiful beach, there is so much variety without ever having to leave one location.
Eva chose Duxbury Beach for her senior session, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful night!
Senior Photos at Duxbury Beach
One of my favorite things about photographing seniors at Duxbury Beach is the variety it gives us. The wooden bridge is always a must! It brings such texture and interest it adds images and it gives us a completely different look from the beach itself.
Eva brought a great variety of outfits for the location. I absolutely loved her long blue dress —it photographed beautifully! But she also brought jeans and a casual top, which gave her gallery a completely different feel.
We had absolutely beautiful weather for Eva’s session, although when we first arrived, I wasn't entirely sure what we were walking into!
There were an unbelievable number of birds flying around the beach likely because the area was completely inundated with bugs. I had never seen anything like it! Even the staff at the security stand told me they’d never encountered it either!
Thankfully, it ended up having absolutely no effect on Eva's senior photos, and we had the most beautiful evening we were hoping for.
Eva was wonderful to photograph, and she and her mom were both so easy to work with, I had such a lovely evening with them both!
Is Duxbury Beach a Good Location for Senior Pictures?
Absolutely! If you love the look of beach senior photos but also want really interesting variety in your gallery, Duxbury Beach is a great option!
The bridge and beach give us several distinct backgrounds within one session.There are a couple of practical things to know. Duxbury Beach is a popular photography location, so we're rarely the only ones there—it's very common to see other photographers working with seniors and families. I've never found that to be much of a problem, though.
The bigger consideration is the walk. From the public parking area, it is a long walk to get out onto the beach, so that's something to keep in mind when planning outfits and deciding what you want to carry with you. I’d estimate it’s probably a ten-twelve minute walk?
For seniors who don't mind the walk, though, the combination of the wooden bridge, natural textures, and the beach make Duxbury Beach one of my most frequently visited South Shore locations for senior photos.
