Birthday Session: Take Two!

I recently had the opportunity to meet up with this adorable family as they celebrated this handsome fella's upcoming first birthday! We met for their session in Walpole early last month, and our shoot lasted all of about fifteen minutes.... This little peanut has some sticky fingers, and if we're Facebook friends, you may have seen my post asking if anyone happened to own a metal detector.

Just as we were getting warmed up, the birthday boy happened to grab a hold of Mom's diamond necklace, and in the blink of an eye,  the diamond was gone! We decided to reschedule the shoot and took advantage of what daylight we had left to try to find the lost stone. Some good samaritans were kind enough to join in on the search, we downloaded a metal detector app (which, we weren't surprised didn't work), and these guys even returned a few days later with an actual metal detector, but unfortunately it just didn't turn up.

This family stayed positive through it all! And, I gave them so much credit for coming back a second time earlier this week. All of you moms out there (no offense Dads, but we know who makes this stuff happen ;) know how much time and effort you put into making family photos happen. Between finding a photographer, scheduling the shoot, coordinating outfits & getting ready, and then praying everyone is pleasant throughout the shoot...it can seem overwhelming going into it. Now, imagine having to do it twice!!!

And speaking of good sports, this little guy is one of the happiest little ones I've ever met!!! He has the absolute sweetest, most contagious smile and his eyes are so incredibly beautiful! And though he'll undoubtedly hear the story about stealing Mom's diamond for the rest of his life, you certainly can not be upset with that face!!!!

I find it so interesting when you meet little ones and you can see their personalities forming at such a young age. This little guy has such a curious mind and he loves animals. Anytime one walked by, his gaze was locked onto it until they were well out of sight. It didn't matter if it was dogs or a few geese, he wanted to watch their every move.
