Milton Senior Photographer | Macy’s Senior Photo Session at Milton Landing
PUBLISHED: September 12, 2025
Earlier this month, I met up with Macy and her mom for her senior photo session in Milton, Massachusetts. Scheduling wasn’t easy — Macy is incredibly focused on school and keeps a very full calendar — but once we locked in a date, everything fell perfectly into place!
We started the session right in her own backyard, which, I have to say, was an awesome way to begin senior photos! Starting at home can instantly help a subject relax, especially if they’re feeling nervous in front of the camera.
Before we started, Macy went on and on about how “unphotogenic” she is. If I had a dollar for every time a client said that — and then proves the exact opposite — I’d be rich! EVERYONE thinks they’re unphotogenic!!!!
FOLKS: I am not exaggerating when I say the image below was the very first photo I took. MMMK, Macy… “unphotogenic,” sure! 👌🏻 I literally laughed out loud and told her she was absolutely ridiculous — because she is effortlessly beautiful, both inside and out.
Macy’s dog, Pemi, joined us for part of the session as well. While Macy was clearly the star of the show, Pemi was a pretty fantastic supporting actor! Including pets in your senior photos adds such a personal touch and makes the images feel even more personal!
After warming up at home, we headed out to a few local Milton spots to add variety to her gallery, ending the session at Milton Landing. The Landing was a very cool area and I so appreciated the variety of backgrounds that it offered. By the time we got there, Macy had completely forgotten about the camera, which is always my goal during senior sessions.
The image above is one of my absolute favorites from the entire session. We just happened to run into Macy’s dad on his walk home from the gym, and this is her expression looking at her Dad. 🥹
The thing is this: most clients aren’t comfortable right away. Most clients take a bit to warm up. That’s normal! This is exactly why I don’t offer quick senior sessions, or mini sessions.
The goal is to get the most beautiful, natural, authentic images of who you are - and that takes time.
None of us (myself included!) are immediately comfortable the first two or three shots of a session.
It takes a bit for you to get comfortable with me, to trust that I’m not going to make you feel awkward, and to just get comfortable in front of the camera. All of that takes time.
And when that time is well spent — when we’re laughing, you’re relaxed, and your personality starts to come through — that’s when your favorite images are created. The results speak for themselves.
What stood out most during this session wasn’t just how photogenic Macy is — it was her kindness, intelligence, and quiet confidence. She’s a true “smarty pants” with big goals, and there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s going far in life!
Senior photos aren’t about being perfect in front of the camera. They’re about capturing who you are in this moment of life — the growth, the confidence, and the excitement of what’s ahead. Macy’s session was the perfect reminder of that.
Have a rising senior? Now’s the perfect time to start planning senior photos! Sessions typically book 3-4 months in advance.
