Megan knew from the beginning that she wanted something different for her senior photos. She especially wanted flowers, so when we started planning her session, we knew we needed a location that offered beautiful gardens while still giving us plenty of variety.
Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, Rhode Island could not have been a better choice.. We had to wait a little longer than expected to make this session happen. After several reschedules because of the weather, we finally ended up with the beautiful evening we had been hoping for—and it was completely worth the wait.
Senior Photos at Blithewold in Bristol, Rhode Island
Blithewold is such a beautiful location for senior photos because there is so much variety within one property. The gardens gave Megan exactly the flowers and greenery she envisioned, while the mansion, stonework and architecture created an entirely different look.
And crazily we had the entire property to ourselves!
That gave us the freedom to explore, follow the best light and use so many different areas throughout the session. Between the gardens, the mansion and that gorgeous late-day light, there was yet another beautiful backdrop around every corner.
One of my favorite parts of planning senior sessions is helping each senior choose a location that fits exactly what they envision for their photos.
There isn't a "best" location for senior photos. Some seniors want the beach. Others want a wide open field or something rustic. Megan knew she wanted flowers and something different—and Blithewold gave us exactly that!
It’s exactly why I schedule a session planning call with all of my seniors before every session. The location, outfits and light all contribute to the final result, and when those pieces come together, the gallery feels intentional and completely personal to the senior I'm photographing!
