The Perfect Fall Night for Senior Photos at Bird Park in Walpole, Massachusetts | April, Class of ‘2
After a few weather reschedules and a switch from a beach session to one surrounded by fall foliage, April, her mom, and I finally had the perfect night for her senior portraits at Bird Park in Walpole, Massachusetts. The air was crisp, the colors were gorgeous, and this session truly felt like the grand finale of my Class of 2026 senior portrait season—and what a way to end it!
There’s a saying in business: ‘if you’re marketing to everyone, you’re not marketing to anyone’. Not everyone is my client, and that’s OK! I can be an acquired taste! (Though, my other favorite expression from the great Ramona Singer (#RHONY) is ‘if you don’t like me, you should acquire some taste!’. April really helped me to clearly see exactly who the ideal client for Courtney Wager Photography is.
April is a girl after my own heart! First off, she’s a powerhouse of talent and personality: she stays active in pointe, runs track for her school (a hurdler, just like my oldest daughter - I still do not understand how they manage to jump over those things!); and plays the saxophone in the marching band. She even had a fan section at the park last night where we were fortunate to hear her play Taylor Swift on the sax. Iconic, right?!
But here’s what stood out most to me about her: She doesn’t take herself too seriously. She’s ambitious, confident, and full of big dreams—but she’s also so willing to laugh at herself, and is willing to allow herself to trust me and have fun. That all translated so beautifully in her images. Because when someone lets their guard down, that’s when we are the most photogenic. ☺️
April, thank you for choosing me to capture these images for you! I wish you the absolute best in your senior year and beyond. The best advice I can offer you regarding your future is to never, ever change. You are an absolute delight, and you bring a light and an energy full of joy that we need more of in this world. It was such a pleasure to work with you!
And with that… the Class of ’26 is officially out. 🎤 Mic drop.
